Purity explainedWhat 24K, 22K and 18K really mean.
Karat measures how much of the metal is pure gold, out of 24 parts. The rest is alloy (silver, copper, zinc) that gives strength and colour.

Put jewellery on last, after perfume and cosmetics. Store each piece separately in soft cloth. Wipe gold with a dry muslin after wearing. Keep kundan and meenakari away from water. Bring heirloom pieces to us once a year for a check of settings and clasps.
